¿Por qué probar?

Esta prueba permite la detección simultánea de EHV-1 y EHV-4, apoyando el diagnóstico de caballos con sospecha de infección por Herpesvirus Equino.

Signos clínicos

EHV-1 is a common cause of abortion in mares, weakness in the legs and death in newborn foals. Some horses become wobbly and weak. Horses that lie down and cannot get up have a poor outlook. Infected horses can also get a fever.

Transmisión

Mares can carry the virus and pass it to their foals. The virus can keep moving between mares and foals, even when the mares are vaccinated.

Prevención

Vaccination helps. In studies, vaccinated mares had far fewer abortions, and vaccinated foals were less sick and shed less virus. Vaccination does not stop every case.
